VasconcellosSenator John Vasconcellos is currently serving his first term in the California Senate after representing Santa Clara/Silicon Valley, for thirty years. Currently Senator Vasconcellos chairs the Criminal Procedures Committee.

At the time of filming POTENTIALS, Vasconcellos was an assemblyman in the California State Assembly. He chaired the Assembly Budget and Ways & Means Committee for 15 years and was the founder of the California Task Force to Promote Self Esteem and Personal and Social Responsibility.

Vasconcellos believes society s primary commitment must be to encourage the development of healthy, self-realizing, responsible human beings. Vasconcellos sees California as the human frontier, the seedbed of our revolutions in hi-tech, gender, race and self esteem.

Senator Vasconcellos believes that we human beings are innately inclined toward becoming constructive, life-affirming, responsible, and trustworthy. Senator Vasconcellos has tried to attain these goals through his work in government.
